There are moments when I wish I could take back what I said. But words can’t be undone. Once spoken, they shape minds, move hearts, and often leave lasting marks.
Every word we speak flows from what’s within. If grace, truth, and beauty dwell in your heart, they’ll show up in your speech. But if frustration or bitterness lingers, it will find its voice too. Want to know the condition of your soul? Listen to your own words.
“Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”
— Matthew 12:34
Words aren’t just expressions—they are connectors. They build bridges or create distance. Life-giving words strengthen relationships; careless ones fracture them.
“Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone.”
— Colossians 4:6
The Church is not made of walls—it’s made of people. And our words are the architecture of that community. Inside, they shape the culture. Outside, they carry our invitation to the world. What do people experience through your words—welcome or warning? Comfort or criticism?
“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the messenger who announces peace, who brings good news, who announces salvation, who says to Zion, 'Your God reigns.'”
— Isaiah 52:7
So ask yourself today: What kind of words am I living by? Are they healing, inviting, and strong—or hollow, harsh, and dividing?
Let’s remember the fact that we are God's messengers sent by God to carry good news to our family, our community, and the world.
